Whiskey lovers, rejoice: St. Louis welcomed a new haven for the amber-colored spirit with the opening of Whiskey on Washington. This bar is the realization of owner David Shanks’ dream—a passion project born from his love of whiskey after traveling Kentucky’s whiskey trail.
With nearly 200 whiskeys sourced from around the world, Whiskey on Washington needed a bar program that would do justice to its impressive selection and create a memorable experience for every guest.. I was entrusted with the task of transforming David Shanks’ vision into reality.

My approach:
Curating a World-Class Whiskey Program: I developed a comprehensive whiskey menu that showcases a diverse selection of nearly 200 whiskeys from regions like Kentucky, Scotland, Japan, and Missouri, ensuring that each pour tells a story.
Innovative Cocktail Creations: I crafted signature cocktails like the "Wow-Mopolitan," a whiskey twist on the classic Cosmo, designed to surprise and delight guests with each sip.
Staff Training and Development: I provided in-depth training for the bar team, focusing on whiskey knowledge, cocktail craftsmanship, and customer engagement, empowering them to deliver an exceptional experience.
Event Concept Development: I laid the groundwork for future whiskey clubs and cocktail classes, adding layers of engagement and community-building to the bar’s offerings.
Results:
Whiskey Destination: Whiskey on Washington quickly became a go-to spot for whiskey enthusiasts in St. Louis, celebrated for its extensive selection and unique cocktail program.
